We have enjoyed a wonderful October weather wise. We have yet to experience a killing frost. A few nights of minus 2 or 3 is about all we have had. My parents were married on October 26th, 1938. One of the stories they told was about having fresh strawberries from the garden on their wedding day. This is another similar fall. We have so much to be thankful for.
We have been blest with a lot of company in October. My brother & his wife were here a week before Thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving our daughter, her husband & their family were here. We also had my brother & sister plus lots of nieces & nephews. We served 26 people for Thanksgiving supper. The next weekend our second daughter, her husband & family were here. It’s been like having 3 Thanksgivings.
All this company has helped me reflect on how important family is. I was blest with great parents & a wonderful family to grow up in. Bev & I have been blest in our children & now our grandchildren. Life is wonderful. Life is fragile. We can never take it for granted. Share the good times. Tell people you LOVE them. Do it today. Tomorrow may never come.
Let me share a definition of family.
Are you aware that if we died tomorrow,
we could easily be replaced at work?
But the family we leave behind
will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.
So, why do we pour ourselves more into our work
than into our own families?
Invest your time wisely.
Do you know what the word FAMILY means?
