Happy Thanksgiving Day

Winning the lottery

Lotteries are common place today. Lotteries are readily available in many, many places. Support for lotteries is high which would make you think that many people would like to win a lottery.

I recently heard of a couple that had returned to Canada after working in one of the trouble spots in the world. The poverty & disease was unbelievable. Their comment on returning to Canada was:

“IF YOULIVE IN CANADA YOU HAVE WON THE LOTTERY!!!!!”

Thinking about this comment might lead to 2 questions. The first one might be: do I agree with this comment? Personally I agree with the comment. Have you ever thought of your life in this regard? Would you agree with this comment? The second question might be: now that I have realize that I have won the lottery how will I choose to spend my life?

My response is one of extreme gratitude. We are surrounded by unlimited opportunity. We are all blest beyond compare. I choose to count my blessings “they are like the grains of sand on the seashore, impossible to count.”

I encourage you to make a list of your blessings. I suspect the list will be long. I think you will be amazed at how many of your blessings don’t cost money. A wise person once told me “anything you can buy is not really important. “ The priceless things in life are most important. Most of them will involve Love, people & relationships.

Life for all of us would be so much better if:

“WE GAVE THANKS FOR WHAT WE HAVE
INSTEAD OF
COMPLAINING ABOUT WHAT WE DON’T HAVE.”
